WBE Canada Spotlight

In May, 2016, NRG TeleResources was officially certified as Women Owned Business.  It is with the certification that qualifies NRG to participate in the diversity procurement programs that are available at the various Government levels, as well as at private and public corporations.  It was important that NRG became certified, as it now allows a fabulous platform for me to continue my passionate advocacy for ‘Women in Business’ and ‘Women in the Supply Chain’.

Supplier diversity programs focus on the creation of a diverse supply chain in the marketplace.  A recent survey, conducted by CVM in 2019, show that the “primary drivers of supplier diversity programs is corporate social responsibility, alignment with corporate culture and workforce inclusiveness”.  Most notable though, is the fact that research has proven that supplier diversity does have a significant economic impact in the community.

Over the past several years there has been important advances in supplier diversity.  However, there are still some obstacles, and in turn more work that can be done.

All that being said, I am honored to a part of the WBE community and appreciate being chosen to be this month’s WBE Canada Spotlight.
